FAQs
What is Hijama?

Hijama is the detoxification of the body using an old-age technique called cupping.  A cupping apparatus is used to create negative pressure bringing out the toxins trapped in the nearby organs, tissue and muscles.  You should try it!

What’s the difference between wet and dry cupping?
  • Dry Cupping is when toxins become loose and are removed from the body naturally.
  • Wet Cupping is when slight lacerations are made to immediately remove toxins.
Is cupping painful?

There is slight discomfort, nothing too bad.

Will there be scars?

Not really, if the practitioner uses the techniques taught to them there is no scaring at all.

Why do we do Hijama?

Cupping assists in the removal of toxins and counters the negative effects of medication, chemicals and illness in everyday life.

What are the benefits of Hijama?
  • There are so many benefits like relief from Migraines, Headaches, Fatigue, Depression, Anxiety, Glaucoma, Kidney disease, Heart disease, Liver disease, method of dialysis, and helps with pins and needles in the hands and feet, rejuvenation of the skin.
  • Most importantly it is a sunnah practised for years and years
How long does a cupping session take?

45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how many cups are placed on the body.

If I train with you can I practice Hijama on my own?

Absolutely

Considering training with us?

We are recognised by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine as an accredited Hijama Training Provider.

About Us

Our Goal is to Revive this forgotten Sunnah along with like-minded individuals to give back to society.

South African Hijama Society (SAHS) is a small, local South African Company created in hopes of Reviving a Sunnah and promoting holistic healing!

The SA Hijama Society was founded by Nazira Bee Yasin and her family in 2016.  With a robust medical background in blood and blood products and qualifications in Hijama from Saudi Arabia and South Africa, Nazira created a Training that encompassed both the medical and religious aspects of Hijama Cupping Therapy.

By introducing Hijama Training and Hijama Cupping into our communities we hope to help those in need of Holistic Healing, and in creating business opportunities for unemployed people.

We are a Group of  Trained Professionals with a sound Hijama background reviving an age-old practice.

“There is a remedy for every disease and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of
Allah (Glorious is He and He is Exalted).”
As Recorded in Hadith by Muslim

We make dua that whoever has the opportunity to heal using Hijama, may receive the Almighty’s blessings, and those who are treated receive Shiffaa, Aafiya, and remain in good health. Ameen.
